OUTSTANDING NORTH DOWNS ANIMAL HOSPITAL RECOGNISED BY RCVS
North Downs Specialist Referrals animal hospital has been recognised as outstanding in four awards by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
As a statutory regulator, the RCVS carries out assessments of practices across the country, with vets able to apply for accreditation at different levels depending on the services offered.
Bletchingley-based North Downs, which is part of the Linnaeus Group, achieved outstanding status in Team and Professional Responsibility; Client service; Diagnostic service; and In-patient service.
The diagnostic services award recognises the hospital’s services in terms of the use of diagnostic techniques such as radiography and ultrasound, along with training and safety measures in place.
The role of veterinary nurses is highlighted with the in-patient service award, which also focuses on factors such as facilities and care of hospitalised animals.
The team and professional responsibility award allows practices to demonstrate they have systems in place to make sure the welfare and safety of staff is paramount and their knowledge and training is up-to-date, while the client service award acknowledges excellence in client experiences.
In order to be designated as outstanding in any award, a practice needs to achieve scores of more than 80 per cent during an RCSV assessment.
