Over 1,000 Vets And Vet Nurses Dared To Stare In The RemendTM Great British Stare Off
Newbury, April 2016 – To highlight the importance of tear replacement therapy as part of the management of keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) cases in dogs, Bayer Animal Health launched the first ever RemendTM ‘Great British Stare Off’ at BSAVA Congress.
Over 1,000 vets and vet nurses took part, competing against the clock in a bid to win a GoPro Hero 4 with dog harness. Anthony Dennison from Myerscough Vets and Emma Hake from Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service were the winners!
Hannah Watts, Group Product Manager at Bayer said: “We are thrilled with the number of entries, and hope that the competition will make vets consider how painful KCS can be and how important tear replacement can be, alongside treatment, in providing relief.’’
Keratoconjunctivitis sicca affects around five percent of all dogs1, and up to 20 percent of predisposed breeds.2 To help support vets in treating this condition Bayer has produced a range of resources, including a guide on KCS, and owner facing educational videos. Further educational content will be coming later this year. To download the existing materials, head to the Bayer Vet Centre https://vetcentre.bayer.co.uk.
