Using the congress to communicate with veterinary surgeons around the country, Petlog disclosed the exciting developments behind this year's NMM campaign and the new 'Petlog's Featured Practice' competition.
Petlog sponsors National Microchipping Month, in order to educate the public about microchipping and responsible ownership.
Reuniting owners and lost pets
Petlog believes that through a well microchipped pet population veterinary surgeons will see quicker and easier reunifications between lost pets and their owners.
In its fifteen years of operation however, Petlog has realised that too many people have out of date information, slowing and complicating the reunification process and wasting time.
Update details for free this June
Petlog is allowing people registered with Petlog to go online and update their contact details for free in June, or upgrade to Petlog Premium for a reduced cost if they are already on the Petlog database.
Celia Walsom, Petlog Executive said: "Research has shown that microchips are a hugely successful tool in the reuniting of lost pets, they provide quick and easy access to contact details, saving time and resources and minimising the stress on both the owner and the pet. At Petlog we understand the importance of a robust database, and are always looking to improve - we feel this campaign will benefit all and encourage all databases to follow our lead."
Get involved and win prizes!
"On top of the launch of National Microchipping Month 2011 we will be releasing details about the 'Petlog's Featured Practice' competition, our social media campaign enabling veterinary practices to send in images of themselves with their happy customers: selected images will be featured online and there will be a unique prize for the overall winners.3094 views
