After the success of its first-ever dedicated Vet Nurse webinar earlier this year, Royal Canin has announced its second VN online training session is to take place at 8.00pm on Tuesday 27 November.
Tackling the topic of nutritional management for critical care patients, the webinar follows Royal Canin’s popular ‘Puppy Parties’ webinar in May which attracted an impressive 1,300 registrations from interested nurses.
The one hour ‘Handle with Care’ webinar will explore the importance of good nutrition when nursing a critical cat or dog. Katy Calder (Edinburgh University’s Cancer and Wellness Nurse) and Sarah Collins (Royal Canin’s External Nutritional Advisor) will discuss the considerations you’ll need to keep in mind when you’re presented with a seriously ill patient – when voluntary intakes are unreliable and injury or illness impede normal digestion.
Sarah explained: “Providing a diet which delivers vital energy is just the start, many practical considerations need to be made and nutritional concepts need to be put into practice. Only then are we able to significantly improve recovery times. So what we aim to do in this webinar is explore the nursing knowledge and skills we should all employ whenever faced with a critical care case.”
Valued at £40 but provided as a free offering from Royal Canin, interested nurses can register for the webinar by visiting www.royalcanin.co.uk/criticalcarewebinar. CPD certificates will be made available online to participants after the event. More from
