Select Healthcare Launch The Big Chill To Support Veterinary Teams’ Wellbeing
NVS Select Healthcare is launching the Big Chill campaign in September to initiate conversations surrounding wellbeing in the veterinary workplace. The Big Chill campaign asks all members of veterinary teams to identify their top tips for supporting calm in the workplace for both team members and patients by filling in the Big Chill questionnaire which can be found at https://www.nvsweb.co.uk/products/big-chill/. All respondents are automatically entered into a prize draw to be in with a chance of winning a VetYogi practice subscription.
Gemma Vardy, Senior Category Specialist at NVS Group, explains “Mental health and wellbeing have never been more important within the veterinary industry which is why our dedicated Big Chill campaign supports the wellbeing and mental health of veterinary professionals while also shining a light on animal calming products, such as our select healthcare calming chews, which help support calm and enhance patient experiences.”
Veterinary professionals are being asked to share their top tips in two areas. Firstly, on how they prioritise self-care for themselves and teammates, and secondly, on how they best deal with nervous, stressed or anxious patients.
Gemma continues, “Calm animals in consult rooms are not only desirable from an animal welfare point of view, but also in regard to safety. The campaign urges veterinary professionals to share their techniques and advice on how to support small animal patients, to ensure safe examinations can take place with minimal stress to vet, owner and animal.”
The campaign has received wide support from sponsors, including Pet Remedy. The principal sponsor, NVS Select Healthcare, is showcasing its’s calming chews which help pets experiencing signs of anxiety.
In return for sharing top tips, all participants are entered into a prize draw. The winning prize is a practice subscription to the VetYogi Collective for up to ten individuals. Founder of VetYogi, Chloe Hannigan, comments, “I’m thrilled to be part of the Big Chill campaign. In a time when self-care and mental health awareness are much needed amongst the veterinary community, I’m honoured to be able to provide evidence-based methods wellbeing tools that work, to help support busy veterinary teams.”
