Rushden Vets have announced Vet Phil Burns as their new Clinical Director. Having set up and run both Lake View Vets (Thrapston) and Adelaide Vets (Sandy), you could say he’s something of a dab hand in the role – and that Rushden Vets is in very good hands with him indeed.

‘I’m really excited to get to work with everyone at Rushden,’ says Phil. ‘They are a great team, everybody is passionate about their profession and I’m enjoying meeting Rushden’s pet owners and their pets.’

‘It’s great to have him working with us,’ says fellow vet Sarah Elliott-Hart. ‘He’s an extremely experienced vet with a particular interest in skin problems and reconstructive surgery, which is a wonderful addition to the skill sets of our team here. We are also now able to call upon other vets with special interests or additional qualifications in things like orthopaedics, from our new colleagues at Adelaide and Lake View, which is really great for our patients.’

Friends and longstanding clients of Rushden Vets will be pleased to know that former Clinical Director and animal behaviour specialist Simon Hill will remain at the practice, focussing solely on clinical work as a vet.

And that’s not all. After almost a decade as Practice Manager, Jane Gesikowski has taken a well-earned retirement. Her replacement, Ruth Parris, has worked in the veterinary industry for over 20 years, the last 12 of which she was practice manager for a group of 3 practices in Cheshire. Before that, she spent 9 years working as a veterinary nurse. ‘I’m tremendously happy to join the team at Rushden,’ says Ruth. ‘I can’t wait to meet all of the pets and to get to know their owners.’
