With health and safety legislation regularly changing it can be hard to keep up. If you have been newly charged with overseeing H&S in your practice, where do you start?
This course will offer a practical update, refresher or introduction to current H&S requirements and legislation, including radiation, waste regulation, COSHH and Risk Assessments, fire safety, staff safety protocols and medicine legislation compliance. SPVS and VPMA in partnership with Zoetis will be running this course on 24th September in Surrey.
The day will include a practical workshop in completing Risk Assessments and a question and answer session in which Nigel Lea and Samantha Deakin from Citation will share the most commonly asked questions to their helpline. Carolyne Crowe from Carolyne Crowe Coaching takes you through your legal responsibility to ensure your staff are not stressed at work. What constitutes work related stress, how to spot it, and what you can do to avoid the negative consequences. There will also be a practical demonstration on fire safety, tailored to vet practice, with the chance to try out fire extinguishers and fire blankets and you will receive a separate fire safety certificate. You will leave knowing what you need to know and what you need to do to ensure your practice is legal and compliant.
Anyone new to H&S or feeling in need of a refresher should attend this day.
The day will start at 10:00 and finish at 4:30. CPD certificates, fire safety certificates, lunch and refreshments are included. The course costs £180 for SPVS/VPMA members (or £255 for non-members).
