Royal Canin is launching an interactive summer campaign in a bid to help small animal practices further develop their relationships with cat owning customers. The campaign is being repeated following its enormous popularity with practices last year. ‘Summer of the Cat’ will run throughout June, July and early August and encourages cat owners to enter a competition, to win a year’s supply of Royal Canin cat food, by sharing adventures their cat has over the summer with their vet practice. Entry forms, which contain spaces for photos and drawings, will be distributed to practices along with other promotional materials such as balloons, posters, bunting and shelf wobblers. The competition - which also gives entrants the chance to win large A3 posters of their ‘Summer of the Cat’ storyboards - is being supported by a promotional offer to ‘feed your cat free for an extra week’ from early June until 31 August. Veterinary Marketing Executive, Richard Skinner, explains: “Customers will be able to buy any 1.5kg bag of feline Veterinary Care Nutrition from their vet and get a 400g bag free. The aim is to encourage loyalty and increase footfall in the participating vet practices.” In addition to the Summer of the Cat campaign, Royal Canin is also running a tandem summer promotion for practices’ dog owning clients. Customers will receive a free food storage bin when they buy any 8kg (or larger) bag of canine Veterinary Care Nutrition – while stocks last and until 31 August 2013.
