Grove Lodge Vets nominate local animal charity Worthing & District Animal Rescue Service (WADARS) to receive winning cheque
When Grove Lodge Vets picked up the prestigious ‘Best Veterinary Surgery’ award at the recent star-studded fourth annual Burgess Wetnose Animal Rescue Awards in London their prize was a cheque for £1000 to be donated to an animal rescue charity of their choice.
Local animal rescue WADARS (Worthing & District Animal Rescue Service) have been helping to save both unwanted local pets and injured wildlife for over 40 years, working very closely with the Sussex based independent veterinary group to treat sick and unwanted animals so were the obvious recipients for the prize money.
The judges awarded Grove Lodge Vets ‘Best Veterinary Surgery’ trophy recognising not only their highly skilled clinical approach to cases and impressive fully-equipped Worthing 24hr emergency hospital and referral centre, their excellent branch clinics including Brighton, Portslade, and Lancing, but also their continued service and commitment to improving animal welfare standards and community education via popular weekly school visits, talks, fun dog shows, even shirt sponsors for a local children’s football team.
Marc Abraham, vet at Grove Lodge Vets Southwick clinic says “It’s a bit of a double whammy really – our whole team at Grove Lodge Vets is thrilled to have been voted Best Veterinary Surgery and over the moon that WADARS have won the money.”
WADARS chairman Christie McMahon commented “Thank you Grove Lodge Vets for nominating us to receive the cheque – the extra funds even more appreciated in our current economic climate and will be put to very good use improving the lives of both rescue pets and injured wildlife. Many congratulations to our friends at Grove Lodge Vets for winning Best Veterinary Surgery - very well deserved indeed!”
