Molly had a difficult start to life after being rescued from the streets of Greece at seven months old when her left foreleg was so badly damaged and infected it had to be amputated. When her current owner Stella Spence from Tamworth, Staffordshire found her at an animal refuge in Thessaloniki, age five, she had developed a deformity in her right shoulder and her left hind leg was bowed. Stella brought her home to live with her four other dogs but quickly found that Molly also had a very severe problem with her kidneys which almost killed her – and this is where Royal Canin came in. The pet food manufacturer’s ‘Renal’ diet ensured Molly was quickly on the road to recovery. Her vet Alex England added: “Molly is a remarkable dog. She walks like no other dog I’ve ever known but is a stubborn creature and so only uses her specially designed front wheels when she wants to!” Molly’s owner Stella said: “Molly is such an incredible dog and her inspiring story has helped to raise thousands of pounds for the very refuge that cared for her – The Animal Refuge in northern Greece. Her story always brings a smile to people’s faces, from her early years at the refuge, where her best friend was a sheep called Bridget, to her happy ending with my other four rescue dogs. I’m delighted Royal Canin has recognised how special she is and would really like to thank them for creating a diet which helped bring her kidneys back within normal parameters and should hopefully mean I can enjoy her for years to come! Huge thanks also to Alex and his team for ensuring Molly survived and is now going from strength to strength!” For more information on Royal Canin’s Renal diet, visit www.royalcanin.co.uk
