Its ‘Tornado Tower’ competition had more than 1,500 entries as delegates recreated memories of ‘The Crystal Maze’ to try and win prizes such as iPads and Kindles. There was a prize on offer for each contestant trying to grab the winning slips - three lucky delegates won themselves an iPad and a further ten won Kindles. Other prizes won during the week included bags of Royal Canin food, feline and canine clinical encyclopaedias and books covering urinary and dermatology diseases. Royal Canin experts were on hand throughout the congress to explain to delegates about their innovative DermAlliance campaign, as well as its comprehensive range of feline life-stage diets. The DermAlliance campaign includes educational initiatives such as free CPD webinars, case study collaborations, a regular column with a leading veterinary magazine and competitions to win skin disease reference materials. Royal Canin’s Veterinary Marketing Manager, Lindsay Calcraft, commented: “The Tornado Tower was certainly very popular and it was great to see so many people take part! WSAVA was a great platform in which to educate delegates about our commitment to improving nutritional knowledge in general veterinary practices through our DermAlliance campaign and range of Veterinary Care Nutrition products. We are already planning ahead for the next congress!” Royal Canin’s Veterinary Care Nutrition range includes diets for kittens, adult and senior cats, neutered cats and those with particular skin care issues, such as frequent problems with hairballs. The diets are aligned with standard veterinary procedures and consultations and Royal Canin is supporting these diets with useful educational tools for practices, including a VN product finder, decision trees, posters, client leaflets and wall stickers.
