TR BioSurgical, LLC announced they will officially launch a new, patented veterinary glaucoma device called TR-ClarifEYE™ at this year’s American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology meeting. Glaucoma remains one of the most common causes of blindness in dogs and humans. TR-ClarifEYE™ represents multi-year collaboration among veterinarians and scientists in an effort to develop a simple approach to a complex disease. TR-ClarifEYE™ is made of a unique biomaterial and is implanted completely within the eye to restore fluid outflow. TR BioSurgical also launched a new website, www.PetGlaucoma.com to provide owners and veterinarians a resource about TR-ClarifEYE™ and canine glaucoma.
About Canine Glaucoma
Glaucoma is one of the most common causes of blindness in dogs and humans. Glaucoma is associated with an increase in pressure within the eye, referred to as intraocular pressure (IOP). Increased IOP causes pain and damage to sensitive tissues within the eye, resulting in a progressive loss of vision. Despite a number of surgical and medical options, canine glaucoma is still considered a disease with limited long term management options.
About TR-ClarifEYE™
R ClarifEYE™ is a new, patented medical device that is implanted within the eye to recreate appropriate fluid outflow. An ongoing study in dogs has shown the implant to help maintain pressure for over one year in the majority of patients treated. The device is available to veterinarians around the world and is sold exclusively by TR BioSurgical, LLC.
