Vet Practices Offered Risk-free Publicity

PRACTICES and any business or organisation associated with the ‘animal industry’ can now take the plunge into public relations without the risk. Vet-PR, the UK’s only public relations and marketing company devoted to working solely with vets and the animal industry, has launched its own ‘no coverage, no fee’ service for ad hoc press releases. This means that businesses or organisations do not run the risk of paying for a press releasing service and getting no results, therefore protecting their investment. Vet-PR, which was established in 2008 after principal consultant Marie Carter identified a need for a niche service with expert knowledge of the vet and animal industries, has several vet practices on its books and has also worked with the Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons (SPVS) for the past few years. Marie explained: “We started working with vets in our main business, which serves all types of companies, by accident really, after developing some knowledge of the profession and its quite specific needs. Thoroughly enjoying the work, and with much positive feedback from people in the profession, we decided to launch Vet-PR.” “The ‘no coverage, no fee’ is a natural progression for us, as we’ve spoken to many vets who haven’t tried PR before and are still uncertain about the results it can achieve for their businesses.” She added: “Practices are realising that to compete in today’s tough economic climate they need to do more, but many feel reluctant to take that initial plunge as they will be the first to admit that they do not really understanding what good PR can do for them. “This is why we decided to launch our ‘no coverage, no fee’ service for ad hoc press releases. The service will include researching, writing, distributing and following up a story with the relevant media, whether that’s at a local, regional, national or even international level. This can be anything from an attention-grabbing case study, a new surgery, new expertise, new facilities, a national award or other recognition.” Vet-pr provides PR and much more, as required, ranging from corporate identity to integrated marketing communications, including social media, on behalf of any type of vet or animal-orientated business or organisation.
