Moreton Hall Veterinary Centre is celebrating 20 years of caring for pets in Bury St Edmunds. Clients visiting the practice over the coming weeks will have the opportunity to share photos and milestones of their animals on the practice birthday display boards and take advantage of the birthday discounts in Pets Place.

The practice was opened on 24 February 2004 by veterinary surgeon Martin Barrow. He continues to be the lead veterinary surgeon at the practice and ensures that traditional values of veterinary care and service remains at the heart of everything the practice does.

Nursing managers Abi Massey, who has been at the practice since it opened, and Beckie Mills, who joined a few years later, lead the veterinary nursing team in providing high standards of professional care.

Head groomer and veterinary nurse Lesley Barrow, who has also worked at the practice since it opened, provides training and support and sets the standards for grooming across all practices within Stowe Veterinary Group.

The practice continues to grow and is set to double the number of consulting rooms in the coming months. It also recently opened a Pet Eye Clinic led by small animal ophthalmologist Francesca Capaldo. The Eye Clinic provides a specialised service to Stowe Veterinary Group and other practices in the area.

Martin Barrow said: “We’re very proud of the fact that we care for every pet in the same way we’d expect our own animals to be treated. As an independent veterinary practice that is not for sale, we maintain a strong passion for providing the best patient care possible.

“These last 20 years have flown by. It seems like yesterday when we opened our doors with the ethos of providing a complete and caring healthcare service. I’m delighted that we can continue to offer new and much-needed services to the pets of Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding areas.”

Practice manager Nicola Rigden, who has been with the group for over 15 years, added: “The work we do is a team effort and everyone works incredibly hard to deliver a high standard of service for the pets we look after every day. Each day is different and it’s a joy to be able to deliver consistent care to pets throughout their lives.”

The practice not only helps clients and their pets, but is proud to support the local community, including sponsorship at Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club and funding a guide dog with Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The practice has a well-stocked pet shop, Pets Place, and its Grooming Lounge offers both day-time appointments when the practice is open and evening appointments on Thursdays and Fridays.

In addition the practice has, through two of its sister practices Stowe Veterinary Centre and Ipswich Veterinary Centre, direct access to advanced surgical, imaging, laboratory and diagnostic facilities as well as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and dermatology services.
