Veterinary professionals working in a veterinary practice can save over £500 on The College of Animal Welfare’s leadership and management qualifications this Summer, and will also gain a year’s free membership with the Veterinary Management Group (VMG).

Available at levels 3 & 5 and accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management, the qualifications offer the opportunity for veterinary professionals to nurture their leadership skills and confidence to deal with a variety of management challenges that may arise in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Suitable for current and aspiring head veterinary nurses and practice managers, the programmes cover how to manage team dynamics, utilise individual strengths, delegate workloads, provide direction or guidance and apply discipline in the workplace. The next courses start on 6 June 2020 and offer a combination of online learning and study days, allowing students to fit their studies around their day-to-day commitments.

Mel Young, Vice Principal Academic Studies at The College of Animal Welfare, said: “Many veterinary professionals across the UK are working around the clock to provide essential care for animals in difficult circumstances, with many working with reduced teams due to furloughing and self-isolation. In the current climate, it’s more important than ever to be able to lead your veterinary teams with care and confidence. Our Leadership and Management qualifications nurture the skills to motivate co-workers, manage stress levels in a team and deal with difficult situations.”

More information about the college’s leadership and management qualifications can be found at https://business.caw.ac.uk/ilm or by calling the college on 01480 422060.
