Rebecca, Vanessa, Rosie and Emma are competing in the Northstowe Running Festival and are supporting StreetVet.
Veterinary Professionals Pounding The Streets For Street Charity
Three vets, a vet nurse and a client care assistant from Cambridgeshire are putting their best feet forward for a worthy cause that is close to their hearts.
Vanessa Salisbury, Rebecca Gilbert, Rosie Hunter, Emma Wake and Nichola Hurst are competing in the Northstowe Running Festival on Saturday, September 2.
Vanessa is lead vet at Village Vet Longstanton, Rebecca is lead clinical director at Village Vet Cambridge, Rosie is lead vet at Village Vet Milton, Emma is lead veterinary nurse at Village Vet Milton and Nichola is a customer care associate at the same practice. All practices are owned by Linnaeus.
They are using the fundraising event to support StreetVet, an organisation that provides free veterinary care to pets owned by the homeless community in the UK.
StreetVet was founded in 2016 by two vets – Jade Statt and Sam Joseph – who sought to make a difference to the lives of both animals and people. Today, the organisation has more than 600 veterinary professionals volunteering across the UK.
Vanessa said: “The Northstowe Running Festival is a fantastic opportunity to get active while supporting a worthy cause.
“By taking part in the festival and fundraising for StreetVet, we hope to provide veterinary care to pets in need and support the organisation's critical work in improving the lives of homeless people and their pets.”
Meanwhile, Village Vet will also have a stand at the festival with lots of StreetVet information to show and demonstrate. The stall will be overseen by Zoë DeBarro, lead vet at Village Vet Cottenham and clinical auditor Linda Cammish.
