VetSkill are delighted to announce that they have been approved as an End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) for the Apprenticeship Standard in Veterinary Nursing.

Greg Warman, CEO and Chairman of VetSkill said ‘I am really pleased that we have been approved and that we can now move on to delivering the EPA that so many have been waiting for’. He added ‘We will be officially launching our EPA at Clinical Coach Congress on Monday 16th March from 4.30pm. Please do get in touch if you would like to join us’.

The End Point Assessment (EPA) for the Veterinary Nursing Standard consists of a 45 minute Professional Discussion followed by a 12 station Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). VetSkill’s online End Point Assessment Booking System (EPABS) allows apprentices to book their assessment and OSCE places in real time. VetSkill will open its doors to those wishing to pass through the Gateway by the end of May with the first EPA Professional Discussion scheduled for the end of July. OSCE’s dates are scheduled for September and December this year and from 2021, OSCE’s will become available every other month at multiple venues.

Sam Double, VetSkill’s Qualifications Manager said The VetSkill team have worked really hard to achieve this goal and we look forward to providing not only robust end point assessment for the Veterinary Nurse Standard but also clear direction, support and advice to providers, employers and apprentices’.

VetSkill have confirmed that their EPA total fee will be £3,000 per apprentice and will include up to three attempts at each of the EPA elements although in order to attempt the OSCEs the Professional Discussion must be passed first.

Based in Godmanchester, near Cambridge, VetSkill is an awarding organisation offering a range of qualifications regulated by Ofqual and CCEA to a variety of centres across the UK. It is also approved to operate a register for Suitably Qualified Person’s (SQP).
