The 2025 Cream Awards, presented by British Dairying and held at Chesford Grange, Warwickshire, once again spotlighted the best of the UK dairy industry. Virbac proudly sponsored the Dairy Vet categories, which this year expanded to include three prestigious awards: Young Dairy Vet of the Year, Dairy Vet of the Year, and the newly introduced Dairy Vet Practice of the Year.

“The response to the new Dairy Vet Practice category was phenomenal,” said Caroline Calder, organiser of the Cream Awards. “The calibre of entries led us and Virbac to split the Dairy Vet category into Young Dairy Vet and Dairy Vet, resulting in three outstanding winners overall.”

Young Dairy Vet of the Year

Laura Roberts – LLM Farm Vets

Laura joined LLM in 2021 through its Dairy Internship and quickly proved herself a dedicated and driven vet. “Laura is committed to improving farm efficiency and is a strong advocate for on-farm trials and innovation,” said Sarah Kearney, Farm Animal Product Manager at Virbac.

Laura said “I’m humbled to receive this award. Dairy farming is challenging but deeply rewarding, and I hope this recognition inspires other young vets to pursue careers in farm practice.”

Dairy Vet of the Year

Brian Mundell – Capontree Vets

Based in Cumbria, Brian qualified from Edinburgh University in 2012 and holds a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice. Known for his data-driven approach to herd health, Brian has helped clients improve calving patterns and profitability.

“It’s an honour to be recognised,” said Brian. “I value the opportunity to work closely with farmers and support their success.”

Synergy Farm Health

Formed in 2009, Synergy Farm Health impressed judges with its commitment to staff development and specialist expertise. “Synergy’s model gives farmers access to a broad team of dairy experts,” added Sarah Kearney.

Synergy Farm Vets added, “This award reflects the dedication of our entire team, from vets to vet techs, lab staff, and admin, and the inspirational farmers we work with. It’s a real honour to be recognised by the wider agricultural community.”

Virbac has supported dairy vets for over 50 years with innovative products and services. Its continued sponsorship of the Cream Awards reflects its dedication to championing veterinary talent and advancing herd health across the UK.

“At Virbac, we believe that veterinary professionals are the backbone of herd health and farm success. Supporting the Cream Awards is our way of recognising the dedication, innovation and impact that dairy vets bring to the industry every day.” Sarah Kearney, Farm Animal Product Manager, Virbac
