Tailored for veterinary surgeons who are confident with basic wound management, the course combines concise lectures with practical cadaver-based wet labs. You will focus on techniques for managing challenging wounds and oncologic surgical cases, including practical guidance on combining methods for optimal outcomes. This course would be ideal if you've previously completed our Practical Surgical Oncology and Wound Management course, or if you have relevant experience in practice.
Topics to be covered include:
Reconstruction techniques - a refresher on axial pattern flaps, subdermal plexus flaps and skin grafting
More advanced reconstruction techniques including management of feline injection site sarcoma
Avoiding and managing complications
Limb amputation in oncology
Negative pressure wound therapy
