A leading primary care veterinary practice in Bracknell has welcomed three key recruits to its clinical staff.

Moor Cottage Vets, in London Road, Bracknell, has recently appointed a new veterinary surgeon, clinical nursing manager and RVN in a further boost to its talented team.

Jessica Hawe has joined the Linnaeus-owned practice as a veterinary surgeon. After graduating from the University of Liverpool, Jessica worked with domestic pets, exotic pets and wildlife in the UK, New Zealand and South Africa, where she completed an internship in wildlife veterinary work and conservation.

She completed her Masters in Conservation Medicine with the University of Edinburgh in 2020.

She said: “I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine and how every day can be different! I am very excited to be part of the wonderful Moor Cottage team.”

Claire Ruffer has also joined Moor Cottage in the role of clinical nursing manager. Claire began her nurse training in 2014 as a second career after successfully running her own businesses for a number of years. She qualified in 2016.

She then went on to complete her schedule three training, in which she demonstrated she was able to perform minor surgeries, before also completing training in emergency and critical care.

Jessica and Claire are joined at Linnaeus-owned Moor Cottage by registered veterinary nurse Cheryl Manson.

Cheryl trained and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1997 whilst working at the Blue Cross animal hospital in Victoria, London.

Since then, she has run her own cattery and worked as a dog training coach for a national charity delivering classes to the public, as well as gaining qualifications in counselling, business studies and dog grooming.

Cheryl has a specialist interest in cavies (guinea pigs) and is also passionate about dog and animal behaviour in general.

Helen John, practice manager at Moor Cottage, said: “These are incredibly exciting times at Moor Cottage, as we look to further boost the high level of care and service we pride ourselves on offering patients and clients.

“Everyone here is delighted to welcome Jessica, Claire and Cheryl, and I know they will all add great value to the team.”

Moor Cottage is based in Binfield, Bracknell, and has been serving the local community for more than 50 years.
