Craig Devine from Borders Veterinary Cardiology is delighted with his new Vivid-q from BCF Technology. This is the first used in the UK for veterinary applications.

Craig said about this new ultrasound scanner;
“For me the Vivid-q builds on the excellent image quality and comprehensive and adaptable calculation and reporting features of the Vivid-i.
The addition of the Matrix array transducer in particular means that excellent 2-Dimensional images can be obtained in even the biggest, most challenging dogs.
The probe specific customised user settings, set up with the help of Nigel from BCF Technology means that useful images are obtained from the start of the examination and scanning times are considerably reduced.
The colour Doppler sensitivity is exceptional and clean pulsed wave Doppler envelopes are easily achieved in blood flow and tissue Doppler imaging modes.
An unexpected additional benefit has been the excellent abdominal imaging capabilities achieved even without the use of additional linear or curvilinear transducers. This really is a superb scanner that has reignited in me a passion for imaging that has, I have to say, waned a little over the last few years using lesser units.”
Craig Devine BVSc DVC MRCVS is one of only a handful of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons holding a Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology. He founded Boarders Veterinary Cardiology in response to the growing need for specialist cardiorespiratory medicine in cats and dogs across Scotland.
