The innovative App ‘Cardalis’ is now available on android phones.
The App allows pet owners to easily assess and record their dog’s Resting Respiratory Rate, which can help with both the early detection and monitoring of heart failure patients. It also provides a medication reminder service, helping to ensure compliance with long-term therapy.
Product manager, Fraser Broadfoot MRCVS, explains further: “Normal respiratory rate at rest varies between dogs, but is usually less than 30 breaths per minute. For dogs with mitral valve disease, if this increases to over 40 breaths per minute then it may be a sign that heart failure has developed.
“The response to the iPhone App has been excellent, with over 90,000 sessions recorded so far. By now being available on android phones, even more clients will be able to benefit from this valuable tool.”
The App, which is called ‘Cardalis’ is free of charge and available from iTunes and Google Play stores.More from
