Ida de Fouw, Ceva Animal Health’s Equine and Livestock Regional and Key Account Manager, has shown that commitment and careful time management can pay dividends, by winning the coveted Petplan Elementary Open Area Festival Championships at the British Dressage Winter Dressage Championships last month.
Ida and Willem van Oranje
Ida has persistently juggled riding and work commitments, to bring her own eight-year-old, 16.3hh KWPN gelding Willem van Oranje to victory, achieving an impressive score of 68.79%. It was an especially proud moment for Ida as Willem has been a challenging project over the past two years.
“Transforming him from an unruly six-year-old into a dressage diva has been magical as well as extremely hard work,” she said. “He has a smart brain and is eager to please but he came to me with some attitude! Fitting the riding in around work has it challenges but riding late and in all weather conditions has finally paid off!”
Ida is now aiming Willem for the British Dressage East Region Inter-County Championships, to be held in June 2011 and the Home Internationals later this year.2800 views
