Four Key Appointments Made At Oak Barn Vets
A leading Surrey vet practice has signalled its ambition with four key appointments to its top clinical team.
Dr Jenny Hayes has joined Linnaeus-owned Oak Barn Vets, in Guildford, as lead veterinary surgeon, bringing with her more than a decade of experience in the industry.
Dr Hayes graduated in 2008 from Cordoba University. She spent three years working in Spain before returning to the UK. Since her return she has worked in several large, small animal practices in Hampshire, Surrey and west Sussex, with her last post as clinical director in West Sussex.
She said: “I’m looking forward to helping our clients, their pets and working with Oak Barn’s incredible team. A key aim of mine will be to continue improving our working environment and morale.”
Joining Dr Hayes at Oak Barn will be veterinary surgeon Ryan Page, who graduated from the University of Surrey in 2020 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and Science and joined Oak Barn’s parent group Linnaeus in August 2021.
He will assume responsibility for surgical and medical cases; undertaking surgical operations (including neutering and general surgery) and medical investigations.
Fellow vet surgeon Giles Kalindjian has also been appointed at Oak Barn. Giles grew up in Surrey and graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2015.
After two years working in a busy small animal practice in the Midlands, he decided to work as a locum vet to allow himself some time for travelling. This included six months working in Australia and time spent volunteering as a vet at a dog shelter in the sunny Caribbean island of Grenada.
After being a regular locum vet at Oak Barn, Giles has joined the Linnaeus-owned practice on a permanent basis and has a particular passion for feline veterinary treatment.
Completing the quartet of new starters is vet surgeon Dr Emily Baker. Originally from Surrey, Dr Baker studied at the University of Nottingham and qualified as a vet in July 2021.
Dr Baker has a particular interest in ultrasonography, cardiology and ophthalmology.
Elizabeth Wozniak, clinical director at Oak Barns, welcomed the four, saying: “These are incredibly exciting times at Oak Barn Vets as we look to further boost the top-level care and service we offer our patients and clients.
“I’m delighted to welcome Jenny, Ryan, Giles and Emily. They are all very dedicated and talented clinicians and will add great value to the team here.”
