The Animal Health Trust (AHT Equine) has announced the launch of a bi-monthly programme of free equine CPD seminars, exclusively for members of the BVA Young Vet Network (YVN), to run from March to December 2008. Commenting on the initiative BVA President Nick Blayney said: “The AHT has designed an extremely attractive series of talks, all by first class speakers and we are delighted to be working with them on this exciting initiative. The addition of this CPD to our YVN support package underlines our ongoing commitment to supporting new and recent graduates and we hope that members will take advantage of the combination of science and social networking the talks will provide. “ Rachel Murray, Head of the Animal Health Trust’s Centre for Equine Studies, said “One of our major aims is to be seen as a resource for the veterinary profession and we are thrilled to join with the BVA in providing this free CPD programme. This is very much part of our remit to continue improving welfare by passing on knowledge as well as encouraging and supporting young vets in the UK.” The seminars are open to all YVN BVA members free of charge and members can attend as many of the seminars as they wish. A light buffet will be provided prior to the talks, courtesy of the BVA to enable networking between members. The number of delegates, particularly for the practical, will however be restricted, so early booking is advised.
