NEW DERMATOLOGY SERVICE LAUNCHED AT SOUTHFIELDS VETERINARY SPECIALISTS

Leading dermatology consultant Dr Filippo De Bellis has joined forces with renowned referral centre Southfields Veterinary Specialists in Essex.
Dr De Bellis is to launch a new dermatology service at the industry-leading referral centre based near Basildon.
It will begin in April and will take the number of specialist services at Southfields up to 10.
Dr De Bellis said: “I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Southfields to open and operate this specialist dermatology clinic.
“We will ensure our patients receive individually tailored treatment programmes to suit their specific needs and so achieve the best possible outcome.
“It’s a 21st Century service for both new cases and for re-examinations and we will be able to cope with any type of skin disease, acute or chronic.
“We will conduct skin biopsies, skin allergy tests, treat alopecia and the real advantage is that we have a CT scanner to help with acute ear infections and diseases.
“What’s more, Southfields is a multi-disciplinary referral centre offering expert care in so many different departments which means, if there are other issues to be dealt with, it can all be attended to here on site in one place, under one roof.
“That ensures our patients will have the best of care with the minimum of disruption and delay.”
Dr De Bellis, who will begin seeing patients from April 11, is the latest addition to the impressive array of talent at Southfields from across the globe.
Southfields operations manager Daniel Hogan said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr De Bellis to Southfields and to offer this new dermatology service to our patients.
“This is further evidence of our ongoing commitment to grow our team of experts and add to the wide range of clinics and treatments we provide on-site at Southfields.”
Southfields, which is part of the rapidly-expanding Linnaeus Group, is carrying out a full refurbishment of its existing Essex facilities and greatly extending its premises and staff, as well as installing new equipment.
The respected referral centre also offers specialist care for Anaesthesia and Analgesia, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Feline Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery.
