Norbrook, a world leader in veterinary pharmaceuticals, has appointed a new Territory Manager for South East Scotland and North East England, to reinforce the company’s nationwide veterinary support network.

Marc MacInnes will provide best practice advice and product information to more than 200 practices, working across both livestock and companion animals.

Jane Hutcheon, Regional Sales Manager at Norbrook, says Mr MacInnes’ strong scientific background made him the perfect choice for the role.

“Marc brings a wealth of experience to this position, having worked in the life science and pet health industries since graduating from The Scottish Agricultural College with an honours degree in Applied Animal Science. His proven scientific credentials and passion for animal health mean that he is well placed to provide support and advice to veterinary surgeons and other staff.”

Mr MacInnes says that veterinary science has played a part in his life from a young age:

“I took a year out before university to work as a nursing assistant at a mixed vet practice, specialising in parasitology. Coincidentally, this meant I was already familiar to some degree with a number of Norbrook’s products, as they had been used within the surgery.

“I am just coming to the end of an intensive month of training, and it has been fascinating to discover the science behind the products – both those with which I was already familiar, and new additions to the range, such as the Solantel® flukicide, which launched less than a month before I joined.”

Ms Hutcheon says the Territory Manager role encompasses more than just extensive product knowledge.

“As well as providing specialist training and advice, Norbrook’s Territory Managers take an active role in coordinating regional participation in our free CPD courses for Suitably Qualified Persons (SQPs) – many of whom are employed full time in veterinary practices.

“Last month for example, we launched our Parasite Control Specialist Scheme – and with his experience in parasitology, Marc is in the ideal position to advise SQPs on the benefits of participating in initiatives such as this.

“In addition, we have just launched Thyronorm, a novel solution for treating cats with hyperthyroidism – we are offering webinars hosted by Dr Sarah Caney to support vets, nurses and cat owners in the use of the product, and this is something that Marc will be involved in facilitating.

“We are delighted to welcome Marc to the team, and look forward to working together to offer the best possible service to practices across the UK.”
