CVS has announced the acquisition of the Devon-based Dart Vale Veterinary Group; the Cornish Clifton Villa Veterinary Surgery and the Burghfield and Goring Veterinary Group, based in Berkshire.
Dart Vale Veterinary Group is a mixed practice, employing around 47 staff, including 14 vets, across six sites in Totnes, Paignton, Dartmouth, Buckfastleigh, Brixham and Ashburton in Devon. Clifton Villa Veterinary Surgery is also a mixed practice, employing 43 staff, including eight vets, across five sites. Going forward its large animal work will be handled by Coast 2 Coast, the large animal division of the Falmouth-based Rosemullion Veterinary Practice which is already a member of CVS. The team at Clifton Villa will focus on small animal work.
The Burghfield and Goring Veterinary Group is a small animal practice employing around 25 staff, including six vets, across two sites in Burghfield and Goring, near Reading.
With these acquisitions, CVS' Practice Division now extends to 120 practices across 347 sites.
Simon Innes, Chief Executive of CVS, commented: "During 2016, we are continuing to build our Practice Division with a particular focus on enhancing our presence in the large animal and equine sectors. Dart Vale Vets, Clifton Villa and Burghfield and Goring are all excellent practices and highly regarded for the quality of veterinary care they provide. We are delighted to welcome them and look forward to a successful partnership."
Key to its success is CVS' ability to attract ambitious veterinary staff whilst continuing to invest in the development of their clinical skills and in research to drive the profession forward. It also provides the business support to ensure its diverse range of small animal, large animal and equine practices achieve their full potential. CVS' guiding principles include a commitment to excellence in all aspects of its work and a focus on building long-term relationships with its customers and suppliers. The company works in close partnership with the wider veterinary profession and industry colleagues.
