Royal Dick Presentation Royal Dick Presentation In April Bright Leaf Recruitment, a specialist Veterinary recruitment agency held their second “Preparing for the Workplace” workshop. For their second leg of the campaign, the Bright Leaf team took their workshop to the students of The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. The workshop has been designed to help students be better prepared for the world of work, equipping them with CV writing skills, job hunting hints and tips and advice on interview techniques. Julie Powell, Director of Bright Leaf Recruitment explained; “We offer assistance wherever we can with new graduates. In the past, we have spoken to them on an individual basis when required. It is becoming clear though that extra help can be offered before these graduates enter the employment market. Generally, as well as discussing essential skills, we aim to help broaden the student’s understanding of the current job market and what other skills they need to adopt to stand out”. Richard Powell added; “The facility at the Royal Dick was absolutely superb and it was a real pleasure to talk to the students. Sadly, 2012 wasn’t the easiest year for graduates to find roles and we know of too many that are still looking now. If we can help some of the 2013 graduates be even better prepared and gain a better understanding of what to expect out there then its certainly worth the effort!”. Jennifer Quinn, who graduates from Royal Dick this year commented “The presentation was great, Richard covered many areas I hadn’t considered before and it has given me some good points to consider”. Bright Leaf Recruitment are very keen to roll out the workshop to other organisations over the coming year and welcome any enquires.
