The start of the holiday season can spell misery for dogs with one in three experiencing travel sickness, while their owners often don't know to visit their vet for a solution. To raise awareness of the problem and remind owners that treatments are available, Zoetis is taking to social media to engage dog owners with its lively and informative 'Non Stop Travel Fun' campaign.

Kicking off this month, the campaign will feature a Dog Travel Fun Facebook page, Twitter chats for its 1500 followers, as well as blog posts and infographics. The campaign will invite dog owners to take part in a quiz to identify their dog's travel personality as well as encouraging people to send in video clips of their travelling dogs to win a weekend away at a dog friendly destination.

Packed full of useful information, www.nonstoptravelfun.co.uk explains why dogs suffer from motion sickness and gives tips on how to make the journey more comfortable, such as keeping windows slightly open, taking regular breaks and seeking veterinary advice beforehand.

All the materials will be available for vet practices to run their own social media campaigns on travel sickness and how to avoid it, so that practices can engage with their client base on the subject and inform them about treatments such as Cerenia.

Stephanie Smith, marketing manager for Cerenia comments: "Travel sickness can be caused by any form of transport and occur in dogs of all ages, but puppies are more susceptible. In spite of the scale of the problem we know that dog owners won't necessarily ask their vets for help so the aim of our non-stop travel fun campaign is to encourage people to do just that.

"Our research shows that 90% of dog owners find travelling with their pet more enjoyable after using Cerenia and 89% would be likely to use it again after just one use."

Cerenia is the only anti-emetic tablet licensed to use in the prevention of vomiting induced by motion sickness in dogs aged 16 weeks or older.
