Team From Goddard Vet Group On Cycling Mission To Raise Funds For Hounds For Heroes

A one day bike ride from Northolt, Middlesex, to Exmouth in Devon is the 2013 charity challenge set by a team from the Goddard Veterinary Group and its sister firm veterinary recruitment specialist SynergyVets Recruitment. They plan to complete the 160 mile journey with a relay team of 20 cyclists on Saturday 13 April. Each rider will complete as many miles as they feel able before taking a break. They will then rejoin the group further along the route as it passes through Staines, Camberley, Basingstoke, Andover, Salisbury, Sherbourne, Yeovil, Axminster and down to the Devon coast at Seaton, over the final big hill and into Exmouth. Those taking part, include vets, managers and other staff from across the Goddard Group and the offices of SynergyVets Recruitment. They will leave the Goddard Group’s Mandeville Veterinary Hospital in Northolt at 6.30 am and plan to arrive in Exmouth 12 hours later. In completing the challenge, they hope to raise more than £2,000 for Hounds for Heroes, a charity which provides specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women from the emergency services. Commenting on this year’s charity challenge, Adrian Hayter, Practice Manager at the Mandeville Veterinary Hospital, said: “A day trip to visit our colleagues at SynergyVets Recruitment seemed a great way to raise funds for Hounds for Heroes, our charity of the year. It does such good work with ex-service personnel who have been injured or disabled in the course of their duty. Adrian continued: “As a practice, we take part in an ambitious charity challenge every year. We find these events a great way for staff from across the practice to get together and have fun while raising money for some great causes. We’re very grateful to have received sponsorship from our suppliers and local businesses across London and in Exmouth. The team will be wearing special shirts produced for the event.
