The Pet Vet And Optivet Launch New Partnership To Expand Specialist Ophthalmology Care Across Greater London
Family-owned independent veterinary group The Pet Vet has announced a new partnership with Optivet Referrals, a leading independent and specialist-led veterinary ophthalmology provider, to expand access to advanced eye care for pets across Greater London from June 2026.
Until now, many London-based pet owners have needed to travel to Optivet’s specialist hospital in Hampshire for advanced ophthalmology treatment. This new partnership will bring services closer to home, with veterinary ophthalmology care now available at The Pet Vet’s Waltham Forest surgery.
Whilst The Pet Vet and Optivet will remain fully independent organisations, the partnership will see Optivet deliver specialist ophthalmology services within The Pet Vet surgery. This innovative shared-site model will fully optimise the facilities at The Pet Vet’s 5,100 sqft surgery; and improve access in London to referral-centre clinical standards and patient care.
Working in collaboration with The Pet Vet Waltham Forest Head Vet, Dr Katarina Krasna MVDr CertAVP MRCVS, Optivet London will be led by Dr Gemma Turner BSc DVM MANZCVS FANZCVS MRCVS, Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology. The services will cover a wide range of ocular conditions, from routine medical management through to advanced surgical procedures.
