The University Of Nottingham, Royal Canin & Pride Veterinary Centre: Improving Standards In Clinical Nutrition
Cécile Dor has recently commenced in the post of University of Nottingham Small Animal Internal Medicine Resident, supervised by Dr Nick Bexfield and Dr Mark Dunning, working out of Pride Veterinary Centre’s flagship hospital in Derby.
Supported by ROYAL CANIN, Cecile’s role encompass’ not only tackling the Centre’s varied and challenging caseload, but also providing the Nottingham students and hospital staff with a strong grounding in applied clinical nutrition. Cecile – who joins Pride from her previous role at the Shrubbery Veterinary Centre in Kent – aims to become an authority in small animal nutrition and works up cases while demonstrating ‘best practice’ in this area. She also delivers regular talks to undergraduate students rotating through the hospital. As a member of the ROYAL CANIN team, she will share her clinical knowledge and experience with the company, effectively strengthening their communications and training offering.
Cecile graduated from the Veterinary University of Paris. Her previous experience as a rotating intern at the Veterinary University of Lyon and as an internal medicine intern at the Veterinary University of Paris and more recently at Pride Vet Centre, will stand her in good stead to share her expertise and strengthen the team.
Cecile commented: “Understanding of the role of nutrition and making the right choices in food and feeding is important in developing holistic case management. I’m really looking forward to making nutrition a priority among the team and students here. I enjoy and learn even more every day with the support of my team and the ROYAL CANIN community. I accept the challenge of the ECVIM certification and I am very proud to be the first Royal Canin-supported University of Nottingham Small Animal Internal Medicine Resident”.
