Delegate ticket WSAVA Delegate ticket WSAVA To encourage delegates to find out more about its innovative DermAlliance campaign, as well as its comprehensive range of feline life-stage diets, Royal Canin is running an inventive ‘prize tornedo’ competition for all visitors to its stand at this year’s WSAVA World Congress (11-15 April). On arrival at the Birmingham event, visitors will find a special Royal Canin ticket in their delegate bags, which they can then bring to the pet food manufacturer’s stand (310) for their chance to enter the ‘tornedo tower’ and grab a prize for themselves or their practice. Royal Canin’s Veterinary Marketing Manager, Lindsay Calcraft, explains: “Three lucky delegates will win an iPad 2, and we are also giving away 10 kindles, 50 woods lamps, 500 USB sticks, 100 bags of Royal Canin food, 400 feline and canine clinical encyclopaedias and 600 books covering urinary and dermatology illnesses. We can guarantee a prize every time and those old enough to remember TV’s ‘Crystal Maze’ will enjoy trying to grab their prize as the winning slips fly in the air!” Once at the Royal Canin stand, delegates will be able to find out more about the DermAlliance campaign, which aims to help improve skin care knowledge in general practice. The campaign includes educational initiatives such as free CPD webinars (e.g. ‘Adverse Reactions to Food’ on 1st and 8th May), case study collaborations, a regular column with a leading veterinary magazine and competitions to win skin disease reference materials. Delegates can also discover more about Royal Canin’s Veterinary Care Nutrition range – which includes diets for kittens, adult and senior cats, neutered cats and those with particular skin care issues, such as frequent problems with hairballs. The diets are aligned with standard veterinary procedures and consultations and Royal Canin is supporting these diets with useful educational tools for practices, including a VN product finder, decision trees, posters, client leaflets and wall stickers. Lindsay comments: “Feline practice is an ever increasing part of veterinary business, with 56% of cat owners admitting they would visit their vet more regularly if they were aware of the benefits of preventative medicine. By equipping practices with a range of diets tailored to how they approach feline consults and supporting this with educational materials, we hope to assist in the growth of this key market.” For more information about Royal Canin, visit its stand (location: 310) or its website www.royalcanin.co.uk.
