One of London’s leading animal hospitals has made a raft of new appointments as it expands its specialist-led services.

The team at Linnaeus-owned London Vet Specialists in Belsize Park have recently welcomed specialists in oncology and internal medicine among a host of other talented new recruits to coincide with the relaunch of two key services.

After substantial growth, the hospital has reinstalled internal medicine and oncology services to its multi-disciplinary offering.

As part of this expansion, Dr Laura Bree, an RCVS and European Specialist in small animal internal medicine, has moved to the capital from fellow Linnaeus-owned hospital Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service in Solihull.

Dr Mark Goodfellow, an RCVS specialist in veterinary oncology and European specialist in small animal internal medicine, has joined LVS as its new head of oncology, supported by Dr Sarah Benjamin, an RCVS and American specialist in veterinary oncology, who has also recently joined the team.

Elsewhere, the hospital will be steered by new managing director Yvonne Hignell, who also serves as hospital director at another Linnaeus hospital, Dick White Referrals, and brings with her a wealth of industry expertise.

Yvonne will be supported by hospital manager Jack Davies and clinical director Dr Janet McClaran.

Jack, a registered veterinary nurse who has also taken on the business relationship manager role at LVS, said it was an exciting time for one of the best renowned animal hospitals in London.

He said: “We have a fantastic team here at LVS, with a wide range of skills and areas of interest which ensure we’re able to provide a truly multi-disciplinary approach.

“The relaunch of our oncology and internal medicine services comes on the back of strong growth and we’re absolutely delighted to welcome Laura, Mark, Sarah, and an array of veterinary support staff, including speciality trained RVN’s, on board to help us steer these departments.

“We pride ourselves on providing the highest level of care and service to our patients and clients, welcoming all of our new starters to the team will undoubtedly help us to continue to lead our industry in these areas.”

The LVS hospital is a multidisciplinary referral facility which offers expert care in anaesthesia and analgesia, cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, and soft tissue surgery.
