A leading veterinary referral centre in Cumbria is celebrating after three of its veterinary nurses scooped prestigious awards.

It’s a significant success for the highly-respected Kentdale Referrals, in Milnthorpe, with talented trio Emily Corrie, Emma Dever and Katie Scott all being honoured by the renowned Myerscough College, in Lancashire.

Emily received the FdSc Veterinary Nursing Robert Allan Memorial Award, Emma picked up the Diploma HE Clinical Veterinary Nursing Student of the Year Award, while Katie was named FdSc Veterinary Nursing Student of the Year.

Vicki Earl, client care manager at Kentdale, was full of praise for the practice’s triple award winners.

She said: “We’re delighted for Katie, Emma and Emily and congratulate them on their achievements.

“It is very rewarding for us to have three of our vet nurses honoured in this way and is a ringing endorsement of our ongoing commitment to delivering first-class care and treatment to our patients.

“We pride ourselves on our excellent, specialist-led team of experts, our purpose-built facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, which all ensures we can provide the best possible service for our patients and clients across the north west of England and south of Scotland.”

The three nurses also received glowing plaudits from Myerscough.

Announcing the awards, the college said: “Emily has constantly worked hard across all aspects of the veterinary nursing course, diligently completing her nursing progress log to an excellent standard and consistently achieving high marks in academic work.

“Emily is a real team player who has always contributed well in lessons and also throughout her practical placement.

“We wish her every success in the future and we know she will make a fantastic member of the nursing profession.

“Katie has been an exemplary student throughout the course, constantly working hard to achieve excellent results across all subjects.

“In addition to well-deserved academic success, it is very noticeable that Katie always makes the time to help her fellow classmates, supporting them wherever she can.

“This selfless attitude and positive nature have made Katie a pleasure to teach and we wish her every success in her chosen career as a veterinary nurse, where she will be a wonderful asset to any team.

“Emma is an outstanding student and gained some fantastic results in her assessments on this demanding advanced qualification.

“She has been a positive member of the group throughout the course and her engagement in class has been exemplary. She has been a pleasure to teach and we wish her every success in the future.”
