Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging, the company that recently won two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in innovation and international trade is set to expand with a new office in Australia.  Adding to an impressive team of veterinarians, engineers, physicists and science graduates, Haifeng Liu has joined the company as an MRI Applications Specialist to support veterinary hospitals throughout Asia Pacific and will play a key role in setting up the Australian office in Sydney.

PetVet, a 1.5 Tesla MRI system, is the most recent product from the Hallmarq stable and is a vet-specific MRI for companion animal practices. The company’s equine standing MRI has revolutionised the way that equine lameness is treated and the new companion animal MRI aims to be both more suited to veterinary needs and more affordable, making an in-house MRI within reach for more clinics.

New recruit, Haifeng Liu, is a qualified radiographer with a post-graduate diploma in MRI. He brings extensive experience of diagnostic imaging, training, clinical presentations and technical documentation support. His career with Hallmarq has started in the UK facility where he will complete a comprehensive training programme specific to veterinary MRI.

The PetVet 1.5 T MRI has a number of unique features that allows lower cost operation, improved animal comfort, excellent image quality and visualisation of hard to view structures. Mr Liu will be closely involved in communicating those benefits to vets across Asia Pacific.

Hallmarq CEO Jos Belgrave says this is an exciting development for the company, “Hallmarq has a truly international perspective and our senior management team spend much of their time travelling globally, attending congresses and meeting specialists from around the world. The new Asia Pacific office will allow us to extend our reach to veterinary hospitals throughout the region and we feel that we have something very unique to offer that matches their needs. Our core team of experts will ensure that all of our global customers and prospective customers receive a service that’s second to none. Veterinary MRI has never been more accessible and we are proud to play a role in making that happen.”

Hallmarq is now looking for its first reference veterinary hospital to install an MRI in Australia and act as a showcase for the region. Interested parties should contact Dr. Karen L.  Johnston  VMD, MRCVS, PhD, MBA, Companion Animal Global Business Development Director at Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging by email [email protected] or via Hallmarq head office, telephone +44 1483 877812
