Veterinary Nurse Jenny Freeth
Veterinary Nurse Jenny Freeth Becomes A Social Media Star
Purton Vets’ Jenny Freeth (RVN) has been chosen by Petplan to feature in a series of pet care videos that are estimated to be viewed by over 100,000 people!
‘I was really surprised when I heard back and they told me I’d won,’ Jenny said of the competition she had entered. ‘I’m really pleased to have this opportunity to share tips and help people. I did a Petplan Facebook Live chat at the weekend – I was really nervous but it went really well. I’m looking forward to doing more.’
Each video will detail a different aspect of Veterinary Nursing tips. The first one, which focussed on administering eardrops to dogs, went live on 13th July. The other videos will be released on a monthly basis via Facebook, with other subjects set to be the removal of ticks, keeping pets calm while crate training, travelling to the vets and administering bandages.
Jenny, 25, won Petplan’s competition after sending them a 60-second video clip in which she explained why she should be chosen to join their social media panel of pet experts. After spending a day with the team, filming the videos, she told the Swindon Observer, ‘It’s exciting and a bit scary to think that so many people will see these videos, I just hope that they help.’
The team at Purton Vets are equally delighted. Head Nurse Debbie Leonard, RVN, describes Jenny as ‘a great nurse with such a lovely, bubbly personality and very approachable. We’re all very proud of her and impressed by how confident and relaxed she was on film.’
