Willows And London Vet Specialists In Exclusive Cardiology Link-up

Two leading cardiologists from Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service have embarked on a pioneering link-up with fellow Linnaeus Group referral practice London Vet Specialists (LVS).
The innovate partnership will see LVS offer a specialist cardiology service for the first time with Chris Linney and Brigite Pedro, RCVS & European Specialists in Small Animal Cardiology, working from its Hampstead base one day a week.
Chris is Head of Cardiology at Willows, while Brigite is a key member of the centre’s industry-leading cardiology team. The pair will work alternate weeks at LVS in order to provide a continuous service.
Chris, pictured, takes both feline and canine cardiac referrals with a keen interest in congenital heart disease and performing cardiac catheterisation procedures for correction of heart defects.
He said: “It’s a really exciting opportunity for both myself and Brigite. We had been discussing the provision of a cardiology service at LVS for some time, as there is actually little to no access to specialist cardiology treatment within the M25, making the area obviously very under-served.
“In order to offer a continual service, Brigite and I will be alternating weeks at LVS. We are really excited by the venture and the support we have received from LVS and Willows has been fantastic.”
Brigite has given numerous presentations at national and international congresses and has published several papers on topics such as dilated cardiomyopathy, pulmonic stenosis and cardiac tumours.
She is particularly interested in the diagnosis and management of arrhythmias, in particular, atrial fibrillation which is the main topic of many of her current research projects.
LVS offers complete consultant-led referral services specialising in surgery, internal medicine, laparoscopy, cardiology, diagnostic imaging and emergency and critical care.
