Willows Goes Virtual With Free Online Support For Industry

One of the UK’s top small animal hospitals is continuing to lead the industry in online support with just under 100 free webinars due to be held throughout this year.
Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service, in Solihull, which has more than 50 specialists operating across different 14 disciplines, has been offering free advice to referring colleagues for over 30 years.
With the onset of the Covid-19 lockdown, the award-winning hospital quickly built upon its offering by introducing video consultations for both primary and referral clients, alongside video advice calls for veterinary colleagues - all within a matter of days.
In addition to this, Willows, which is part of Linnaeus, took the opportunity to transform its planned face-to-face CPD program for the year into almost 100 free online sessions.
Running three live webinars each week all the way through to December, Willows clinical director Toby Gemmill said the referral centre was keen to ensure colleagues across the industry continue to be supported.
He said: “As part of our commitment to ‘shared care’ of our patients, Willows has always been extremely keen to offer advice and support to our referring colleagues, as well as those who don’t necessarily refer to us who would like our input on a case.
“Our specialists devote a lot of their time to putting together world leading CPD content and we thought it was important that our colleagues across the country have an opportunity to access these sessions via live and interactive webinars.
“We have had colleagues from as far afield as British Columbia and India attending online events over the last three months, and the feedback from the industry as a whole has been extremely positive."
Willows offers specialist services in anaesthesia and analgesia, cardiology, clinical nutrition, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery and spinal surgery.
