A determined quest to be the best has prompted an ambitious recruitment drive across Europe and around the world by one of the UK’s top veterinary centres.
Southfields Veterinary Specialists, based near Basildon, in Essex, now boasts experts from 11 different nations among its highly-trained staff, led by clinical director and chairman of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons, Henry L’Eplattenier.
They have successfully drafted in consultants from as far afield as Australia and America, Italy and Ireland as well as Switzerland, France, Spain, Greece, Slovenia and Slovakia.
Operations manager Daniel Hogan said this was a result of a deliberate policy to attract the finest vets available anywhere in the world, in order to deliver the highest levels of clinical care.

Part of the growing Linnaeus Group, Southfields is carrying out a full refurbishment of its existing Essex facilities and greatly extending its premises and staff, as well as installing new equipment.
