Online content specialist Vetstream Vetstream is offering free iPads to those signing up for a three year subscription to its content services between October and December 2012.
Veterinary surgeons taking out a monthly subscription for 36 months to two or more Vetstream services; or one Vetstream service and CABI’s VetMedResource during this period will receive one of the three latest types of Wifi- and 3G-enabled iPads at no extra charge.
Vetstream’s online resources include:
- Canis (dogs)
- Felis (cats)
- Lapis (rabbits)
- Equis (horses)
Each of these provides a comprehensive clinical resource for its species, including peer-reviewed clinical text, images, video and sound provided by more than 770 specialist clinicians worldwide. VetMed Resource, owned by CABI, is a veterinary science database, which is updated weekly. It contains more than one million bibliographic records, thousands of news and review articles, as well as papers on recent research to help those clinicians wanting to support a more evidence-based approach to their clinical practice.
Existing subscribers can contact the company for further details on how they can upgrade their subscription to include the latest iPad.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr G Mark Johnston MRCVS, Managing Director of Vetstream, said: “Vets are increasingly finding online CPD an attractive alternative to traditional meetings and lectures and the new iPad provides a convenient, easy to use viewing platform via a Wifi or 3G connection. We hope that our special offer will encourage those who have perhaps felt that they couldn’t justify the cost of an iPad, to sign up for our services. Once they’ve tried accessing our clinical resources in this way, we’re sure that they will find the iPad an invaluable part of their working life – and their personal life too.”
