BCF recently worked with Mark Cater, a UK based IT expert to provide a new ultrasound scanner for the Cheetah Conservation Fund for their work in Namibia. Scanner being used on a Cheetah Scanner being used on a Cheetah Following a visit to Namibia, Mark got in touch with BCF to find out about supplying a Vet 180 plus portable, battery powered ultrasound scanner designed initially for US military. BCF provided this equipment below cost price in order to help Mark to support this great cause. Anne from the Cheetah Conservation Fund recently got in touch to pass on her thanks, “I wanted to contact you regarding the ultrasound that you generously discounted for Mark. The Cheetah Conservation Fund is a non-profit organisation and we depend on everybody's generosity to support us in our work. We have been looking for an ultrasound for a long time, and so far had to depend on visiting vets bringing their own which happened on some occasions during the annual exams, but of course is never available when we get a wild cheetah in. We are very much looking forward to having this tool available at CCF, and will be using it routinely on cheetahs when they are anesthetized (to get baseline values and detect deviations thereof), and on our dogs for the livestock guarding dog breeding program. With about 60 cheetahs, 10 working/breeding dogs, 10 dairy goats, and hundreds of sheep, and cows, we are always very busy and an ultrasound is a valuable tool. So again, thank you for helping us.” For more information visit www.bcftechnology.com or visit facebook.com/bcftechnology
