To celebrate the fact that this year’s London Vet Show is going ahead in person, IVC Evidensia has decided to shake things up a little with their lecture streams.

Their plan, for both their small animal Referrals and Equine referrals lectures, is to have a series of topics, relevant to first opinion vets and nurses, with specialists from different disciplines talking about how they would approach that topic.

This unique approach will showcase the expertise IVC Evidensia has within the group. It will help highlight how specialist patient care is based around collaboration and team work between first opinion clinicians and referral specialists.

Each specialist will speak for a half hour slot about the topic from their point of view. The new structure will give delegates the chance to meet and hear from experts in their fields, talking on a range of subjects relevant to their day-to-day work, in really practical, focused talks. The aim is to help first opinion vets and nurses understand how specialists from different disciplines assess cases and make decisions.

For example: Collapse is one of the subjects that will be covered. The stream will include lectures from a neurologist, a cardiologist and an ECC specialist.

Each of the lectures has been designed to be concise and to-the-point, with the opportunity for delegates to ask questions at the end. Once the lectures on each topic have finished, delegates will have the chance to chat with the specialists on the IVC Evidensia stand. They will be able to chat, meet and feel a part of our growing collaborative IVC Evidensia network of referral and first opinion clinical teams from across the group.

The lectures will be held upstairs in one of the larger theatres as always, to allow enough room for all delegates wishing to attend.

Richard Artingstall (MBA, MA, Vet MB, CertSAS, MRCVS, RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery), of Vale Referrals and the IVC Evidensia Referrals Strategy Group, said,

“Working our Referrals and Equine streams like this gives delegates the opportunity to gain a real insight, from different disciplines, into how our specialists work up a case.

He went on to say,

“The lectures will offer practical, discipline-based guidance, looking at clinical presentations and problems from different discipline perspectives. Our hope is that this will help delegates in decision making and planning case management plans for these more tricky case presentations in practice. I think it will be incredibly useful for them and I can’t wait to be there.”

Speakers for the whole event are all specialists from within the IVC Evidensia network including:
