The Managing Pain in Canine Osteoarthritis Booklet
Vétoquinol makes canine OA easier to manage
Vétoquinol, who supply Cimalgex® and Flexadin® as options for managing osteoarthritis (OA), are delighted to announce a new practice support tool to help optimise canine OA management.
The ‘Managing Pain in Canine Osteoarthritis’ booklet is the result of 8 months’ work between Vétoquinol and a panel of veterinary surgeons with considerable expertise in this area; the aim of which was to establish consensus guidelines for managing canine OA in first opinion practice.
Robert Simpson, Cimalgex and Flexadin Product Manager, comments, ‘OA is a complex, multifaceted disease which most first opinion vets will encounter daily and we wanted to produce guidelines which will be of practical use to veterinary surgeons. This booklet is a must-have for the practice as it is a great reference tool for answering many questions you have in this area and as a resource for building robust practice protocols.’
The booklet contains information on how to choose the right NSAID for the individual dog, advice on monitoring OA progression, what to do if there are side effects, use of NSAIDs alongside other medications and tips on improving compliance and pet owner satisfaction.
Robert adds, ‘This booklet could not have been produced without the panel and we are all extremely grateful for their time and effort.’
