Cave Veterinary Specialists Nurse CPD Club is taking to the road for the first time with a full-day congress in Plymouth.
Popular Nurse CPD Club Takes To The Road With Plymouth Congress
A Nurse CPD Club is proving so popular that it is taking to the road for the first time and is inviting veterinary nurses in the South West to join them for their special congress event.
The club was co-founded by Bryony Gilder, Head of Nursing Services at Linnaeus-owned Cave Veterinary Specialists in Somerset, and runs with the support of Patient Flow Co-ordinator Felicity Maxfield.
Its popularity has increased rapidly since it was established before the first Covid-19 lockdown, when local veterinary nurses met once a month at Cave’s animal hospital in Wellington.
It then moved online during the pandemic, which saw its popularity swell with up to 120 nurses joining for the evening sessions which covered a variety of topics.
In the next exciting chapter for the Nurse CPD Club, it is heading for Plymouth for an in-person, full-day congress on Saturday, June 29 at BLOCK Plymouth, and it is called ‘SEA-P-D’.
In addition to lots of educational content to stretch the mind, delegates will have the opportunity to join in with some exciting activities, including yoga and stand-up paddle boarding.
Among the informative presentations are ‘Hands on Heroics: mastering CPR techniques’, ‘Diving into the well of Wellbeing’, ‘Equipping your Rehab Toolkit’ and ‘Sinking your teeth into dentistry’.
Bryony, who has been planning the congress since last year with support from colleagues, said: “The Nurse Club CPD Congress in Plymouth has a fantastic schedule of speakers from our experienced nursing team, covering a wide variety of topics.
“It’s also a great chance to network with like-minded people and for us to meet and give back to some of the amazing professional’s that refer their patients to Cave.
“The support from Cave and Linnaeus to run this event has been amazing, and a very special thanks goes to our business relationship manager Emma Robson and Felicity, who have both been integral in its organisation.”
Cave offers comprehensive, specialist-led services in anaesthesia, cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, oncology, orthopaedic surgery and soft tissue surgery.
