Purina Launches Pro Plan® Veterinary Diet EN GastrointestinalTM Low Fat At London Vet Show
At London Vet Show, Purina is launching its new veterinary diet for dogs – Pro Plan® Veterinary Diet EN GastrointestinalTM Low Fat which is a highly digestible diet suitable for dogs with compromised fat metabolism. On stand P20, delegates can enjoy multiple opportunities to find out more and benefit from giveaways when they receive a stamp on the show passport or sign up to Purina Vet Centre. By watching a short video on Pro Plan® Veterinary Diet EN GastrointestinalTM Low Fat, viewers can enter a lucky dip to win fun prizes, including shopping vouchers, gym bags and umbrellas. Vets from the Purina Technical Support Line will also be hosting an AMA (Ask me anything!) opportunity on the stand to help with problem-solving around the nutritional requirements of complex cases.
Pro Plan® Veterinary Diet EN GastrointestinalTM Low Fat joins a portfolio of veterinary diets suitable to support canine gastrointestinal conditions, which include EN Gastrointestinal, which contains limited fat, HP Hepatic, HA Hypoallergenic and probiotic FortiFlora®. The feline range also offers EN. HP and HA options, as well as FortiFlora® which is suitable for cats and dogs.
Combining the prebiotics in the EN range with probiotics in FortiFlora® helps deliver a ‘synbiotic’ synergistic effect to support a healthy gut environment, by helping maintain a healthy intestinal microbiome.
Fat malassimilation is common in dogs with gastrointestinal disturbances1, resulting in water secretion in the gut and loose stools2, production of anti-inflammatory compounds2 and altered microbiome composition.3,4 A limited fat diet can help minimise the risk of such malassimilation, but some conditions, such as hyperlipidaemia, require even lower fat levels, compatible with those found in EN Low Fat.
Libby Sheridan is Purina Scientific Affairs Manager for UK and Ireland and will be on the stand with her veterinary team, “We’re excited to be talking about the benefits of new Pro Plan® EN GastrointestinalTM Low Fat as another option to help nutritionally support gastrointestinal conditions. It’s a great addition to the GI portfolio and we’re looking forward to having wider conversations with delegates around new findings about the microbiome and the benefits of synbiosis.”
Find Purina on stand P20 at London Vet Show, alongside the Purina Institute stand which will be focusing on communication around the science of nutrition.
