Solihull based specialist recruitment firm Open has announced that fundraising for their chosen charity Guide Dogs this year will be full of ups and downs!
Last year the team from Open supported the charity with a fundraising parachute jump and this year the team are already in training for the Talybont Adventure Team Challenge.
Talybont is an annual guide dogs event made up of a 10km hike to the summit of Waun Rydd, a height of 762 metres above sea level and then a 26 km mountain bike through the famous Taft Trail. Just to make it all a little more difficult the time limit for completing the couse is 10 hours!
The Open Recruitment Team
Richard Lonsdale, Managing Director of Open said : “Guide Dogs is our chosen charity in the UK and also in Australia. We recruit within the veterinary, optical, dental and pharmacy sectors, so not only does it fit very well with our business, we know it really enables many people to change their lives for the better! Only 15 teams in the UK completed the Talybont Challenge last year, so it is a tough challenge this year for my team! We would be most grateful of your support!”
Peter Emmett from Guide Dogs Events Team commented: “It costs £10 a day to breed, train and support each guide dog partnership and as the charity relies on voluntary donations to fund its services, every penny raised will make a huge difference to blind and partially sighted people.”
