An award-winning South London vets is celebrating after its reception team scooped an incredible eight gold awards for their glittering customer care.

Every customer care team member at Maven Vets, in London Road, Sutton, has earned the prestigious British Veterinary Receptionist Association (BVRA) gold qualification.

A delighted Nicola Kerkhoff, practice manager at the Linnaeus-owned vet centre, said: “It’s a remarkable success story for our dedicated team of receptionists.

“We are absolutely delighted every one of them has been recognised with these BVRA gold awards.

“Gold is the BVRA’s ultimate standard, the final level of the Accredited Veterinary Receptionist award, so to have achieved eight is terrific.”

BVRA examiners require gold award winners to demonstrate their ability to cope and care for clients in five key categories: Bereavement and Condolences, Information and Communication Technology, Mental Health and Wellbeing, BVRA's Guide to Conduct and Contribution and Managing Challenging Situations

The Maven team’s success should come as no surprise, as it has been a BVRA training facility since 2004.

Their highly-trained team also takes great pride in delivering a top-quality level of care and consideration for clients, with the group of eight combining 45 years’ service at the popular vet centre.

Maven’s gold-star associates are customer care team leader Kristin Hardin, who has been there for eight years; Susan Boyd and Sandra Ramsey both 12 years; Chantal Smith and Michaela McCarthy, seven years; Sheldon Halvorsen, four years; Hannah Byde three years; and Becky Loutit and Heidi Santos, the deputy customer care team leader, two years.

Kristin said: “The BVRA gold course was hugely beneficial to us all in helping is explain processes to our clients and to support and comfort them in difficult times.

“It was great for the whole team to achieve the BVRA Gold – it was literally a whole team effort which has made us even more confident and competent in assisting clients.

“What’s more, now that we’ve all become a Registered Veterinary Receptionist, we can all put the letters RVR after our names!”

Maven Veterinary Care, which has been rated outstanding by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, is based in London Road, North Cheam, Sutton.
