New Member Joins Orthopaedic Team At State-of-the-art Willows
A European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery with a special interest in minimally invasive fracture repair has joined Willows Veterinary Centre.
Alexis Bilmont, who graduated from the Veterinary School of Maisons-Alfort, in France, in 2006, is the latest member of the orthopaedic team at state-of-the-art Solihull referral practice, which is part of the Linnaeus Group.
From 2007 to 2013, Alexis worked as an intern and assistant in surgery at the Veterinary School of Toulouse, and subsequently at several referral practices in the south of France.
He then returned to the Veterinary School of Toulouse in 2013 to undertake a three-year residency in surgery and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2017.
Alexis’s clinical interests cover all aspects of orthopaedics and spinal surgery and he has a particular interest in minimally invasive fracture repair. He is committed to providing the best possible level of care to his patients and giving an excellent service to pet owners and referring veterinary surgeons.
Alexis said: “I was immediately attracted to Willows by the excellence of the team, supporting staff and facilities. Being part of a team of six orthopaedic surgeons is extremely stimulating and rewarding. One of the major advantages is that every case can benefit from our different backgrounds and experience, which allows us to find solutions to some very challenging problems.
“Other reasons I opted to join Willows include the high caseload of complex cases and the practice’s wealth of experience with joint replacements.
“Finally, the philosophy of work here was appealing. Willows give the surgeons the time and environment to work extremely well on each single patient and this is extremely satisfying.”
When not at work, Alexis enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and playing piano. He is also a keen squash player.
